How to fix our conference tournament attendance problem
1. Start the tournament on Monday.
2. All night games.
3. Play on the higher seeds home court in all rounds.
4. Play the games on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.
5. Problem solved, all games will be heavily attended.
6. Split all proceeds evenly amongst all of the schools.

And look like the Atlantic Sun?
The PR hit alone would do more damage than any extra money we'd make.

Is there a conference out there that doesn't include every team in its tournament?

Explain. What would the PR hit be? I think it would lead to copy catting from other leagues.

Copycatting from other low major leagues who play conference tournament games on their home floors?

I like that idea. Top 8 seeds only. Those extra games against lower seeds hurts our NET.

What would be bad about having larger crowds? We will never have well attended tournaments under the current set up. The dynamics of our league are different. We are too spread out. This would be optimal for our league. Forget other leagues. Let them worry about what they do, and we’ll worry about what we do.

I think the Ivy does.
This is all terrible and just done to make op Memphis fandom feel better after talking trash and then doing only slightly better than Orlando and Hartford did for non-memphis games despite being much more centrally located.
It's going to DFW and it will pretty much be there from now on with maybe an occasional drop out east. It will easily be the highest attended of the tourney's since it's current make-up without Rutgers and Louisville

Don't like the idea of off days between games. People visiting the host city would double their expenses and time commitment if that were the case. Also you have to have all teams invited. Part of the fun is that all teams have a chance to go to the NCAA tourney.

I’ll keep record of this post and reply next year when we see how well ft worth is attended. The league messed up big time by scheduling Memphis during the day. That was their only chance at getting good attendance. They blew it. The pros do home games in every league for their playoffs. It seems to work well for them.

There won’t be many out of towners anyways. Just like there aren’t many now. If we did this, we would boost league revenue for all schools. And perception for the tv audience.

8. Reduce the geographic footprint of the conference via highly-accelerated plate tectonics?

I give a dam. But unfortunately, most middle class give a dam people can’t afford the huge travel expense. Just a fact.

I guess there are a LOT of independently wealthy Wichita State fans. Doesnt seem to hurt them. They travelled just as well to Orlando.
I dont buy the whole "cost" thing. Sure it affects some. But surely not to the extent it is currently.

Uh, your theory kinda loses ground when FedEx didn't fill up yesterday for a weekend semifinal game on your home court.
You guys get the freaking tournament on your home court and you're still complaining about ****. The AAC didn't have the tournament in Memphis to accommodate every freaking minor detail for Memphis. The schedule was laid out in advance like every major conference tournament. If poor Memphis fan wanted a better timeslot, they should have finished in 3rd, or dropped a couple of turds along the way to finish in 6th.
And 4ever is right, Fort Worth will be greatly attended next year and in years to come. Better than in Memphis this year and they're truly a neutral site.

Wichita State fans plan it as a vacation. That's what they do. They choose to do that. I believe most fans could do the same from just about any school.
